Easter 2008

We had a very interesting Easter. It actually started on Friday - with Mr. P and some really bad diapers. He (and Daddy) stayed home and he slept and lounged all day. The bad diapers continued on through Saturday and - just when we thought they were done - continued on at Grandma Allgeier's house. Mr. P actually ended up staying home the following Monday and Tuesday till he was all better.

They did receive some baskets from the Easter Bunny - with some toys, dvds, and a little candy. They seemed to enjoy the Peeps and have a few peanut butter eggs left. At the Allgeiers, Grandma had some baskets all ready for the kids and they got some plastic eggs (Mama and Daddy took the candy), a hopping chick and some bunny ears. Lizzie went with Daddy to visit the Rademaker grandparents and had a good time eating lamb.

Las Vegas

The family travelled to Las Vegas, NV for a week. I had some training to attend and we decided to make a vacation out of it and stay in our condo. We left in the middle of a huge snow storm - about 12 inches of snow!!! Even with that snow, our flight left only 20 - 30 minutes late and soon we were in sunny weather. Paul and Lizzie did really great on both the flight out and the flight back. They were a little fussier on the return trip, but no more than you would expect. Many of the people on the flights complimented us on our great babies.

While in Vegas, we didn't do much - we got some shopping done at the near-by outlet mall and a little shopping on the Miracle Mile - in the Planet Hollywood casino. We did go to Paris and have some crepes - Paul really liked the nutella crepe. Lizzie wasn't too worked up about either the nutella or the apple crepe.

While I was attending my training - Charlie got to sight see at the local ER. That's right - Paul required a little trip to the ER for an ear infection and pneumonia. He ran a fever our first full day, it went away the next day, and then was on and off the following. So on the fourth day - Charlie took him (with Lizzie in tow) to the immediate care center, where he was told that they only look at kids older than 10. So off to the Children's Hospital. Charlie says the doctors and nurses were all really nice, so it wasn't a really bad experience - just long. We have some anti-biotics and a breathing treatment that seemed to do the trick. We checked in with our local ped yesterday and all is well.

So now, we're all home and happy - except that while on vacation the twins got used to us laying down with them when it was time to sleep and now we have to listen to Lizzie cry for about 30 - 45 minutes before she goes to sleep.

We left this in Kentucky...

Quick Update

Well - what can I say, I'm a very bad blogger. The twins are doing great. They're crusing around and getting into everything. Their favorite toy is the tupperware (as usual, not what we spent tons of money on).

We had a recent assessment by the NICU Doctor (at their one-year adjusted - March 7). Overall they are doing good and on track. As both are walking and picking up the smallest speck (especially Lizzie as she will eat anything on the floor) their motor skills are doing great. The verbal skills are lagging just a little, but this is expected with twins. The doctor gave us some games to play and help them. He said no red flags right now, but we're supposed to keep watching them for the next couple of months.

Soon I hope to have some video (or at least some pictures).
